The Range Rover is well into its middle ages, with its 50-year anniversary having now arrived, and Land Rover is pulling out all the birthday stops. The Range Rover remains one of the most iconic SUVs of all time, known for both luxury and off-road capabilities. And if you want to celebrate the brand’s long, prestigious history, you can pick up a Range Rover Fifty edition.
The Range Rover lineup emerged when Land Rover decided to combine the polish and posh of the Rover sedan with the off-road capabilities of the Land Rover SUV. The result is a vehicle that is both capable in many terrains but also great for trips to the Hamptons and the like.
The so-called Range Rover Fifty comes in both a short and long-wheelbase option and features a variety of homages to the original 1970 Range Rover. Right in the center console, there’s a “1 of 1,970” script. That’s because just 1,970 Range Rover Fifties will be built. This references the first year of the Range Rover, 1970.
As for interior colors, you can choose from a variety of luxurious options. There’s Aruba, Santorini Black, Rosello Red, and Carpathian Grey. On top of that, there are three heritage colors, Tuscan Blue, Bahama Gold, and Davos White.
Don’t worry, though, the Range Rover Fifty isn’t all about looks. Like all Range Rover’s the Fifty is made with performance in mind. A V-8 5.0 liter engine cranks out 510 horsepower. This should provide ample power both on and off the road.
