Aston Martin has struggled with financial problems and various other challenges over the years. And yet whatever their setbacks, they’ve consistently put together some of the best luxury and performance cars around. And the new Aston Martin Valhalla is shaping up to be both stunning and quick. Ultimately, the hybrid hypercar points to a potentially bright future for the British automaker.
In recent days, Aston Martin already drummed up publicity good and bad by debuting their Valkyrie hypercar at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The Aston Martin Valkyrie drew a lot of excitement and praise, but then promptly broke down when a cheap electrical part failed. Given the hype and the fact that the Valkyrie is going to retail for more than $3 million, a breakdown at a major show certainly left the automaker with some egg on its face.
Still, the Valkyrie is a promising car and so too is the Aston Martin Valhalla. The mid-engine supercar marks a new chapter for Aston Martin. While many vehicles offered by the British automaker have offered plenty of speed, Aston Martin hasn’t offered production hypercars and instead has mostly focused on luxury. The Valhalla and Valkyrie, however, will speed into the hypercar history books.
The Valhalla is powered by a 4 liter V8 that produces a respectable 740 horsepower, while two additional electric motors that crank out another 201 horsepower. Even without the gasoline engine, the Aston Martin Valkyrie can reach 80 miles per hour but you’ll only get about 9 miles before you have to plug in the gas.
With all three motors engaged, the Valhalla is expected to hit 62 miles per hour in about 2.5 seconds, making it one of the fastest production vehicles around. So far, details regarding price and launch dates are scarce but expect the price of this Aston Martin for sale to be high with only 500 Valhalla’s slated for production.
