With the 2022 GMC Hummer EV, General Motors plants a huge flag atop Supertruck Mountain. With up to 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 lb.-ft. of torque, accommodating up to 37-inch all-terrain tires, and able to accelerate to 60 mph in three seconds, the GMC Hummer EV is now the performance pickup to beat.
“We had one goal for Hummer EV: Build the most capable factory truck – ever,” said Al Oppenheiser, GMC Hummer EV chief engineer, in a statement to the media. “It’s an absolute off-road beast with a unique e4WD drive system that provides maneuverability unlike anything GM has ever offered before.”
GMC is debuting the 2022 Hummer EV in Edition 1 specification, priced from $112,595. In years to come, according to Automotive News, more affordable versions of the truck will arrive:
An SUV version of the Hummer EV is also rumored, which makes perfect sense.
